Azul

Azul is a strategic tile-laying board game where players take turns selecting colorful tiles from shared factories to complete rows on their personal boards. The goal is to artfully place tiles to fill in a decorative wall, earning points based on how the tiles are arranged. Players score more by creating rows, columns, and color sets, while losing points for unused or excess tiles. The game ends when someone completes a horizontal row, and bonus points are added for completed patterns. Azul blends simple rules with clever planning, offering a relaxing yet competitive puzzle experience.

🎨 What’s Azul All About?
Azul is a tile-laying game where you’re decorating a beautiful mosaic wall using colorful tiles. You want to place the right tiles in the right spots to score the most points—kind of like artistic Tetris with a bit of strategy!

🧱 The Goal
Score the most points by placing tiles on your board in clever ways. You get points for making rows, columns, and specific patterns—and you lose points if you take tiles you can’t use!

🧩 How the Game Works
Each round, there are little circles (called factories) with tiles on them. On your turn, you:

  1. Pick one color of tile from a factory
  2. Take all tiles of that color from it
  3. Slide the leftover tiles to the center (those are fair game later!)
  4. Then you place your chosen tiles in a row on your player board (called the pattern line)

But here’s the trick: you can only put one color per row, and each row can only hold a certain number of tiles—1 in the top row, 2 in the next, and so on.

🏗️ After Everyone Takes Tiles
You move finished rows over to your mosaic (the pretty part on the right side of your board). That’s how you score points!

  • You score more when your tiles touch others
  • You lose points for extra tiles you couldn’t fit

🛑 End of the Game
The game ends when someone completes a full row on their mosaic. Then everyone adds bonus points for:

  • Complete rows and columns
  • Sets of all five of one color

🏆 Winning
Whoever has the highest score after that wins the game—and the prettiest wall!
