Ticket To ride
Ticket to Ride is a board game where players compete to build train routes across a map by collecting and playing sets of colored train cards. Each player starts with destination tickets that show specific cities they need to connect, and they score points by successfully completing those routes. On their turn, players can either draw train cards, claim a route on the board (by playing cards that match the route’s color and length), or draw more destination tickets. Longer routes and completing more tickets earn more points, but players lose points for any tickets they don’t complete by the end of the game. The game ends when a player has two or fewer trains left, and the player with the highest total score wins.

You’re building train routes across a map, trying to complete secret tickets that connect specific cities. The more routes you finish, the more points you earn. But watch out—if you don’t finish a ticket, you lose points for it!
🧳 Getting Started
- Everyone gets train cards (used to claim routes)
- And ticket cards (your travel goals—you’ll need to connect those cities)
- You also get plastic trains to place on the board
Keep your tickets secret! You don’t want others to block your plans 😉
🎲 On Your Turn, You Can Do ONE of These Things:
- Draw Train Cards – Pick up two cards (from the deck or face-up options)
- Claim a Route – Play cards of the same color to claim a path between two cities and place your trains there
- Draw More Tickets – Take a chance and get new travel goals (but remember, unfinished ones cost you!)
🚂 How Routes Work
- To claim a route, match the number and color of the path with your train cards
- Example: a 3-space red route needs 3 red cards
- Some routes are gray—you can use any one color for those
🏁 End of the Game
The game ends when someone has 2 or fewer trains left. Everyone gets one last turn, then you count up your points:
- Points for completed tickets ✅
- Minus points for tickets you didn’t finish ❌
- Extra points for the longest continuous path of trains 🚄
- Extra points for most tickets completed!

Whoever has the most points wins! Simple, fun, and just the right amount of competitive.
